Carbon Reduction Plan

PMCE Services and PMCES South Ltd are both committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 2050, in line with the UK Government’s target. 

As small, specialist engineering consultancies, we operate as core teams of fewer than five individuals and a remote working model. While our current carbon footprint is minimal, we are committed to integrating sustainable practices from the outset and reducing emissions over time as we grow. 

Baseline Emissions Footprint 

Baseline Year: 2024
Company Inception: June 2020 & March 2024
Baseline Emissions: Estimated to be under 1 tCO₂e annually, primarily from business travel and digital service use. 

Due to our early stage of operation and minimal infrastructure, baseline emissions are based on conservative estimates, with formal tracking to begin as part of future reporting cycles. 

Current Emissions Reporting 

Reporting Year: 2024
Total GHG Emissions: Estimated under 1 tCO₂e, generated predominantly from: 

• Remote working (home energy use) 

• Occasional business travel 

• Use of digital platforms and data storage 

Carbon Reduction Initiatives 

PMCE Services and PMCES South have already implemented several initiatives to minimise emissions: 

• Fully remote operations with no permanent office space 

• Preference for virtual meetings over travel 

• Paperless working through digital-first processes 

• Use of cloud-based, energy-efficient platforms 

• Subcontractor and supplier selection with an emphasis on sustainability 

• Promotion of energy-conscious remote working (e.g., LED lighting, device efficiency) 

Planned Future Actions 

To support our commitment to Net Zero, we plan to: 

• Introduce formal emissions tracking tools as part of our annual review process 

• Offset essential travel using verified carbon offset schemes 

• Embed sustainability criteria into procurement and project delivery 

• Encourage suppliers and subcontractors to adopt Net Zero targets 

• Publish an annual update to this Carbon Reduction Plan 

Declaration and Governance 

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and reflects our current businesses' structure, values, and environmental commitments. It will be reviewed by the Directors and updated annually to reflect the ongoing development of the businesses.
