PMCE Services and PMCES South are fully committed to ensuring that modern slavery and human trafficking have no place in any part of our business or supply chains. This commitment is underpinned by our core policies and procedures, including:
Our Code of Conduct, which promotes integrity, respect, and ethical behaviour in all professional activities.
Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy, which ensures fair and respectful treatment for all individuals.
Our Procurement and Subcontractor Vetting Procedures, which require ethical and legal compliance from all external partners.
We expressly prohibit the use of forced labour, child labour, or any form of exploitation within our operations or those of our subcontractors and suppliers.
Organisation Structure
PMCE Services and PMCES South are small, specialist UK-based engineering consultancies delivering high-quality building services and sustainability solutions. Operating within a core team of fewer than five, the companies adopt a flexible, remote-working model, supported by a carefully vetted network of subcontractors on a project-by-project basis.
The companies do not maintain central physical offices. Their supply chain are limited in scope and primarily include:
· Professional service providers
· Independent engineering consultants
· Suppliers of administrative and digital tools necessary for business operations
All partners and subcontractors are selected with a strong emphasis on legal compliance, ethical standards, and responsible business practices.
Due Diligence and Ethical Assurance
As small organisations, our due diligence processes are proportionate to the scale and nature of our operations. We apply the following measures to uphold our ethical standards:
We only engage individuals and subcontractors who have been personally vetted and can demonstrate compliance with legal and ethical obligations.
All new subcontractors must confirm their adherence to ethical labour practices as part of their onboarding process.
We periodically review publicly available records and policies of subcontractors where applicable.
Our contracts include clauses requiring full compliance with UK labour laws and the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation
While the risk of modern slavery within our own operations is considered low due to our small scale and limited supply chain, we remain mindful of indirect risks, including:
Third-party subcontracting relationships
Use of overseas service or software providers in project delivery
To mitigate these risks, we:
Maintain close, direct relationships with all contractors
Avoid engagement in high-risk sectors and regions with known exploitative practices
Prioritise suppliers with established ethical policies and UK-based operations
Monitoring and Effectiveness
Although formal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are not currently in place, we assess our effectiveness in combating modern slavery through:
Zero recorded incidents or concerns related to modern slavery
Ongoing maintenance of transparent and compliant supplier records
Annual reviews of relevant company policies and practices
As the companies grow, we intend to develop clear performance indicators related to ethical compliance and staff awareness.
Training and Awareness
Given the current size of both PMCE Services and PMCES South, formal training has not yet been implemented. However:
The Directors are well-versed in the requirements of the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
All subcontractors are informed of our zero-tolerance approach to slavery and exploitation.
As we expand, we plan to introduce awareness training as part of our onboarding and subcontractor engagement processes.
Statement Approval
